renovation materials in Brisbane, landsc - What You Need to Have ...

Gardening can be enjoyable and fulfilling as an outdoor hobby. For some, gardening is also therapeutic. This activity needs the proper garden tools and equipments recommended by your landscaping supplier in Brisbane City. These tools and equipments will help make your gardening activity convenient and time-efficient. You don't need to buy the expensive ones since the basic garden materials can be equally useful.

Gardening tools and equipment

Most of the garden renovation materials in Brisbane are also used as basic tools in regular gardening activities. These include spades, hoes, rakes, loppers, digging forks, hand cultivators, hand trowels, dandelion diggers, and bypass pruners. Appropriate clothes for gardening should include accessories like gloves, aprons, and kneelers so they can be used for your convenience and safety. The gardening gloves are designed to keep your hands clean and protected from plant thorns or rusty tools. You can use aprons to protect your clothes from stains caused by soil, dirt, or rusts.

Spades are short-handled and square-headed shovels. You should buy spades with strong steel head and hardwood handle to ensure durability. These tools are used for digging, removing, and moving small amounts of soil, sand, or stones for gardening or renovating. Hoes have long handles and thin steel blades at the edge that you can use in weeding and cultivating.

Steel rakes are useful in cleaning your perennial gardens and lawn turfs. They can easily remove fallen dead leaves and flowers, twigs, and other loose debris. Loppers are used to remove branches and leaves for pruning and shaping of your trees and shrubs. The ideal digging forks are those with four steel tines, foot rests, and hardwood handles for easy digging. You can use these to loosen compacted soil and managing perennials. Hand cultivators and trowels are used for planting and maintaining potted plants. They are also used in removing or digging out weeds and loosening soil. Dandelion digger are designed to remove dandelions and deep-rooted herbs like plantains. You can use bypass pruners for minor gardening activities like cutting plant deadheads, removing spent foliage, and shaping small plants.

Regular maintenance tools

Lawnmowers, long hoses with rain wands, wheelbarrows, and gardening carts are useful in maintaining and cleaning your garden. Mowing is essential for the maintenance of your lawn turf. You should choose a high quality lawnmower that is convenient and easy to use. Buying this equipment helps you to save money from hiring mowing services. The long hoses with rain wands are used for watering garden plants. These can reach all parts of your garden including hanged and potted plants. Wheelbarrows and gardening carts allow you to move large amounts of soil, sand, or stones anywhere in your garden. You can use these to move potted plants and hand tools so you don't have to lift them one at a time.

Friends mourn teenager killed in New Jersey party bus accident

(Reuters) - Hundred of teenagers took to social media overnight to mourn a popular New Jersey high school student who was killed on Friday after he stuck his head out of the emergency roof hatch of a double-decker party bus and hit a highway overpass in New Jersey.

"My eyes are still swollen from crying, but I know you're in a better place," wrote classmate Joanna VanWynGarden on a Facebook page created to honor Daniel Fernandez, 16, of Sayreville, New Jersey.

Fernandez was among dozens of students headed to a "sweet 16" party aboard a double-decker bus traveling from New York City to New Jersey around 6:30 p.m, said Steve Coleman, a spokesman for the Port Authority Police Department.

"You didn't deserve any of this. You were such a great kid," wrote Ani Bieber, another classmate. "The last time we spoke two days ago, we were arguing at Katie's sweet 16 and I'd do anything to take it back."

Within 24 hours of Fernandez' death, 931 people had joined a Facebook group honoring his life.

The bus was transporting students from St. Francis Prep in Queens, New York, where Fernandez was beginning his junior year, to a party in Garfield, New Jersey, when Fernandez apparently raised his head through the hatch.

He was pronounced dead after the accident at Hackensack County Medical Center, officials said.

The bus was operated by Designer Limousine, Inc, a Long-Island based charter bus and limousine company that advertises the "largest double-decker party bus in the country."

A spokeswoman said the accident took place on that bus. She referred inquiries to a media specialist, Kyle Kotary, who did not immediately return calls for comment.

A security guard on the bus told the New York Daily News that he warned the festive teenagers to stay away from the rooftop hatch.

"I told them not to open the hatch, like three or four times, but kids, they don't understand," Alex Franco, 41, said.

Franco told the newspaper he then went downstairs to the front of the bus and reported to the driver that it was too hot in the bus.

Moments later, "I heard two guys screaming, ?Oh my God, oh my God,'' and ran back up to the second floor of the bus and saw Fernandez on the floor.

Coleman referred questions regarding an investigation to the office of Bergen County Prosecutor John Molinelli. No one at Molinelli's office was available on Saturday. The bus company spokeswoman said Designer Limousines had not been contacted by investigators.

After unusual speech, 'Eastwooding? makes the rounds on the Web

Clint Eastwood was the surprise speaker at the Republican convention. And the "Dirty Harry" actor's rambling speech didn't make everybody's day. The 82-year-old gave an ad-libbed talk to an empty chair on stage that was supposed to be President Obama?or where he was sitting?or something.

It didn't take long for Obama's furniture stand-in to take on a life of its own. Cue the "Eastwooding" Web meme.

Game of Thrones "Eastwooding" from @Column55 on twitter.Immediately, Clint Eastwood became a trending topic on Twitter as commenters poured out their thoughts?and let their imaginations run wild.

From Brent Spiner ?@BrentSpiner, "After watching Clint Eastwood's speech last night at the RNC, I'm voting for the chair. "

Chris Rock (yes, that Chris Rock) ?@chrisrockoz posted, "Clint Eastwood on the phone with Obama now: 'It all went according to plan, sir.'"

@BorowitzReport wrote, "A new poll reveals that Romney trails Clint Eastwood's empty chair after convention."

Ken Jennings ?@KenJennings added,
"An LA cop friend tells me Clint Eastwood has been driving alone in the HOV lane 'with the President' for YEARS. "

Funny Or Die jumped in with a gallery of some of the best images, noting that Eastwood gave "a stern lecture to a chair," and picking up on some of the best chair memes, many of which involved the Eastwood/Chair ticket for 2012.

A fake Simpsons cartoon image shows Grandpa Simpson in a newspaper clipping with the headline, "Old man yells at chair."

And a Shepard Fairey version of the 2008 "Hope" poster was circulating with an image of a chair instead of Obama.

Suzanne Munshower ?@expatina asked,
"I have one question: Was the mystery guest Clint Eastwood or the Invisible Obama?"

Simon Pegg ?@simonpegg posted,
"Woken up to excited chatter in the US. Apparently Clint Eastwood had an argument with an empty chair regarding its political standpoint. "

FastLaugh ?@FastLaugh tweeted,
"Give Clint Eastwood a break... The RNC asked him to speak about ObamaCare and he thought they said ObamaChair..."

Obama's Twitter feed, @BarackObama responded with the post:
"This seat's taken " and a photo of the commander-in-chief? in a chair with the plaque "The President." It's been retweeted more than 40,000 times.

[NYT Business Day Live] Luxury Real Estate As Art? | Miller Samuel ...

I enjoyed the interview of James B. Stewart and Alexei Barrionuevo by Louise Story (best last name a reporter could ever have), on the topic of luxury real estate in the New York Times Business Day Live video series. Mr. Stewart (author of Den of Thieves ? one of my favorite books of all time) penned ?The Market for Real Estate Masterpieces? exploring the idea of high end real estate as art based on Alexei?s high end housing market coverage of the past year, including the $100M listing (including the upset interior designer), the $88M sale and the >$90M contract among others.

Here was my take on the ?Art as Real Estate? angle in Mr. Stewart?s column:

?When people refer to their real estate as art, they?re really trying to say it?s unique, that it can?t be replicated.?

He said he?s seen the phenomenon not just in New York, but also Miami, London, Los Angeles and other markets where investors ?are looking for safety in a world of turmoil and uncertainty.?

But, he said, ?they?re confusing price with art. You?d think that titans of industry would be very individualistic about their acquisitions, but at the very top, there?s a herd mentality. You get one or two very large transactions that grab headlines and then it?s like a light switch goes off. In New York, this happened in the second half of 2010, and since then it?s been very intense. The size of what?s happening is unprecedented. How long can this go on? You see this kind of behavior and you have to wonder.?
