Python Causes Panic In Public Rest Room In Tiveria

(Monday, June 25th, 2012)

According to snake catcher Itti Myers of Katzrin, the snake that he carted off from a public rest room in Tiveria on Sunday, was a Burmese Python. He explained it was a young snake, about 3-years-old, measuring about three meters (yards) in length and judging by the snake?s behavior, it was most likely being raised in a home. He warned that while many people like raising snakes, this is not a particularly great snake for the home since it can grow quite large.

Wikipedia: Burmese Python (Python molurus bivittatus) is the largest subspecies of the Indian Python and one of the 6 largest snakes in the world, native to a large variation of tropic and subtropic areas of Southern- and Southeast Asia. They are often found near water and are sometimes semi-aquatic, but can also be found in trees. Wild individuals average 3.7 meters (12 ft) long, but may reach up to 5.74 meters (19 ft).
